In our administrative offices, externally commissioned printed materials are produced on recycled paper whenever possible, and the resulting emissions are offset through carbon offset projects. Our IT department is increasingly using used or refurbished hardware in all departments and divisions of the Student Services Organization.

We offset the greenhouse gas emissions resulting from our business travel in collaboration with the Klimafonds and KlimaInvest Green Concepts GmbH, whose project portfolio is certified by the independent, nonprofit Verified Carbon Standard Association (VCS).

Since May 2023, the Studierendenwerk Bremen has had a climate protection manager funded by the National Climate Protection Initiative.

National Climate Protection Initiative
Through the National Climate Protection Initiative, the Federal Ministry for the Environment has been initiating and funding numerous projects since 2008 that contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Its programs and projects cover a broad spectrum of climate protection activities: from the development of long-term strategies to concrete support and investment-based funding measures. This diversity ensures a steady stream of good ideas. The National Climate Protection Initiative helps to embed climate protection at the local level. It benefits consumers as well as businesses, municipalities, and educational institutions.

The creation of this page is funded as part of the KSI Climate Protection Management project—Development of an Integrated Climate Protection Concept for the Bremen Student Services Association (initial project limited until February 28, 2025). Grant ID: 67K22739 (Grant recipient: Studierendenwerk Bremen). The goal of the project is to develop an integrated climate protection concept for the Studierendenwerk Bremen.
