We have installed publicly accessible bike service stations in our Emmy, Luisental, Spittaler Straße, and Vorstraße residential complexes. Residents of our complexes can use these stations easily and free of charge right outside their doors.

In 2024, the heating system for the Vorstraße residential complex was converted from natural gas to district heating. Thanks to this switch in energy sources, we expect to reduce CO₂e emissions by approximately 100 metric tons per year going forward, and we have connected all residential complexes where district heating is currently available to district heating networks.

Also in 2024, our new PV system on the roof of the Emmy residential complex was put into operation. The system has a capacity of 29 kWp, and the electricity it generates (estimated at approximately 26 MWh/year) is consumed entirely within the residential complex.

We are gradually switching to LED lighting in our residence halls . New appliances (e.g., refrigerators) are purchased with models in the same or a higher energy efficiency class. A combined heat and power plant is in operation at the Neustadt residential complex. In addition, the Studierendenwerk uses 100% green electricity.
